The Sanctuary Philosophy: Devotion is Not a Commodity
Spiritual practice (sadhana) is an intimate, sacred endeavor. Unlike commercial apps and habit trackers, Nityasadhana rejects surveillance advertising, psychographic profiling, and data monetization. Your prayers, japa counts, and spiritual vows belong strictly to you.
Zero Sacred Surface Tracking
No session recording, marketing pixels, or third-party ad networks on any practice view.
Local-First Storage
Unauthenticated use stays on your device. Cloud sync only occurs upon explicit sign-in.
Absolute Sovereignty
One-click data export and permanent account deletion under DPDP Act and GDPR.
Data Collection and Minimization
We adhere strictly to data minimization principles, collecting only what is essential to provide an authentic, cross-device devotional companion:
1.1. Account and Identity Data
When you register for an account, we store your email address and cryptographic authentication tokens. This data is used solely to maintain your session, synchronize your settings across devices, and deliver essential transactional alerts. Creating an account is completely optional; you may use Nityasadhana anonymously in guest mode.
1.2. Contemplation and Ritual Records
When you use our ritual tools, the platform saves your personal practice parameters: completed Japa Mala rounds (108 beads), stotra reading bookmarks, auto-scroll velocities, selected script preferences (Telugu, Devanagari Sanskrit, or IAST English transliteration), and custom daily sadhana lists. This information is treated as private devotional data and is never surfaced for public comparison or algorithmic profiling.
1.3. Local Device Storage vs. Secure Cloud Storage
Guest and offline sessions store all active bead counts, audio settings, and reading progress locally inside your browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB). When you sign in, your state synchronizes securely over an encrypted TLS connection to our managed database infrastructure, enabling seamless continuation across your mobile phone, tablet, and desktop.
Zero-Surveillance Practice Commitment
We pledge that all authenticated practice screens (including Today's Sadhana, Japa Mala Counter, Stotra Auto-Scroller, and Vratam Trackers) are sacred, distraction-free zones:
- No Behavioral Screen Recorders: We do not run session-replay scripts (such as Hotjar, FullStory, or Mouseflow) that record cursor movements, taps, or screen sessions.
- No Commercial Ad Tracking Pixels: We do not load advertising or retargeting pixels (such as Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or Google Ads conversion trackers) on ritual surfaces.
- No Data Brokering: We do not sell, rent, license, or share user behavioral trends with commercial data brokers or marketing aggregators.
- Privacy-First Diagnostic Telemetry: To guarantee system availability and diagnose fatal application crashes, minimal technical error reports (browser family, OS version, and technical stack traces) may be logged without capturing personal devotional metadata.
Data Processors and Infrastructure
We do not share your personal practice records with third parties for commercial gain. We engage only enterprise infrastructure processors necessary to deliver the application under strict Data Processing Agreements:
User Rights, Data Export, and Total Deletion
In accordance with the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023) and GDPR, you retain full sovereignty over your information:
You can request a complete, machine-readable export (JSON/CSV) of your recitation logs, japa history, and saved preferences at any time.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated practice records. All production database rows are erased immediately upon confirmation.
