Early Life & Calling: Born as Narendranath Datta on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata. A brilliant intellect searching for spiritual proof, he met Sri Ramakrishna at Dakshineswar Temple and asked: 'Sir, have you seen God?' Ramakrishna replied: 'Yes, I have seen Him just as I see you here, only more clearly.'

Spiritual Descent & Method: Sri Ramakrishna trained Naren in all paths of Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam, proving their ultimate harmony. After Ramakrishna's Mahasamadhi, Swamiji founded the Ramakrishna Order, uniting contemplative monkhood with active service to the poor ('Atmano Mokshartham Jagat Hitaya Cha').

Major Contribution: Represented Hinduism at the 1893 Chicago Parliament of Religions, introducing Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world with his historic address beginning 'Sisters and Brothers of America'.

Mahasamadhi & Living Presence: Swami Vivekananda attained Mahasamadhi on July 4, 1902, at Belur Math on the banks of the sacred Ganga.
