Early Life & Calling: Arrived in the remote village of Shirdi, Maharashtra, as a young, unnamed fakir. He took up residence in a dilapidated mud mosque which he named 'Dwarkamai' ('Mother Dwarka'), living in poverty and serving all who approached him.
Spiritual Descent & Method: Baba seamlessly synthesized Hindu and Sufi traditions, maintaining a perpetual sacred fire (Dhuni) in Dwarkamai and distributing its healing ash (Udi) to heal sickness and alleviate distress.
Major Contribution: Broke down rigid caste, communal, and religious divisions, uniting people under the universal banner of 'Sabka Malik Ek' (One God governs all).
Mahasamadhi & Living Presence: Took Mahasamadhi on Vijayadashami, October 15, 1918, in Dwarkamai. His holy physical remains are enshrined in the Samadhi Mandir (Buti Wada) in Shirdi.
